Sheriff Fontenot believes that he has in custody the negroes who last week murdered the Opelousas woman and her three children at Rayne. The ax used in the murder has been proven to belong to the family of George Washington, who is now in jail, and other members of the family are implicated. Several suspects were arrested today by Marshal Clark, of Rayne and lodged in the parish jail.
